Immy: We’re at Dhamthal Sweets and Nimcos ready for our
extremely intense desi breakfast.
Tani: If you come to Karachi and don’t have halwa puri for breakfast then what’s the use of coming here.
Tani: We’re at
Dhamthal Sweets and here we’re going to have halwa puri for our breakfast.
This place is located in the FB area of Nasirabad.
It is said that the breakfast which we get in this place
cannot be found anywhere else in Karachi.
Let’s see what the hype is about.
Immy: So when you order a plate, you get Puri, Aloo Bhaji
and then you get Halwa, Chutney
and pickle. We also ordered some tea. Here they have a family sitting area so we are sitting
there.
Let’s go. Tani: The best thing about halwa Puri is that the Puri is
not sticky.
They are not oily. In many places, they have a lot of oil in puris or ghee and
due to that, it becomes very heavy to eat. This puri is not oily at all.
Immy: I’m getting fuel for our extreme Karachi street food
tour but I need some tea.
Tani: The breakfast for the people of Karachi is incomplete
without tea. So we have ordered tea.
We ate Halwa Puri nicely. Now our task is to go and have a golgappe.Tani: The ultimate snack food of Karachi is golgappe. Which is called Pani puri in the local language. So we have reached such a place which serves the best
golgappa in Karachi. The name of this place is Manpasand. Let me tell you where it is located.
It is located near the Maskan Apartment or Maskan Chowrangi.Immy: so the hunt to find the best golgappa in Karachi was
really a long one. Those who had nice pani, didn’t have good golgappe.
Those who had good golgappe didn’t have good water. But this place has aced everything and now we are going to
share with you all the tasty golgappe.
Tani: The best thing
about Manpasand’s Pani Puri is that they assemble them and then give you.
It has chickpeas, chutney, chips, onions, and everything. When all these things go inside your mouth then it feels
very good. They’re making hot and tasty golgappa. At the back, they’re making chaat and there’s paani puri
too, they have papri and dahi bade too.
Immy: so if you don’t know how to eat a golgappa, you get
the actual golgappa and thank God they have done the complete feeling. You dunk it in the water, I lost my spoon, and wow that was
so delicious. It was a crispy outer shell which I think they themselves
made. And the best thing is that they have tamarind and chilli
chutney in the correct ratio. This water is completely cold. I think there’s ice in it. Wow, it's so good. So, guys, I’ve eaten tasty Gol Gappa and we are going to
jump from one snack food to another. Now we will have Channa papdi.and we are going to go to Bahadurabad. Let's go.
Tani: Brothers and sisters,
Karachi’s Street Food tour is incomplete without having a chaat or Gol Gappa. So we have reached our favorite
place for chaat, Mehran spot which is located in Bahadurabad
Charminar Chowrangi. Those who don’t know about this
place, this place is located here for a long time back. your childhood was spent eating chaat
from here. We always used to come here with
friends or family or cousins to eat chaat and the best thing about it is that the
quality of chaat is top-notch. You won’t get better quality than
this anywhere in Karachi. Immy: the best thing that I love
about this chat is that they serve it really hot every single time. The chickpeas are cooked very nicely
and they give you extra chutney or spices, a full box of it. I drench it in chutney and I eat it
like a crazy person but it is hands down my favorite chaat in Karachi.
I had it a few years ago for the
first time. After that day I didn’t like chaat
anywhere else. Tani: The man who makes it is such
an expert. Due to years of experience, now his
hands work like a machine. He adds sweet chutney, curd, sour
chutney, papdi, onions and the best thing that makes chaat perfect are chickpeas. As Immy mentioned, the chickpeas are
nicely cooked and are soft and small as they should
be. In many places, they use big
chickpeas which remain uncooked. They are not completely soft and due
to that, the chaat is incomplete. They have used onions and papdi in a
large amount which increases its taste.
So we’ll try this now. Immy: Tani, have a bite. Tani: You feed me. Immy: I gotta mention that I can
have this anytime in a day. I’ve been here for breakfast, lunch
and dinner and also a midnight snack and I never get sick of this amazing chat. Tani: So if you also want to eat
good chaat in Karachi then you don’t have to go anywhere else. Come straight to Charminar
Chowrangi. There is a toy shop and you’ll find
Mehran Spot near it. Remember the name. Come here and have a good quality
chat. Tani: Biryani is a thing which is
eastern and cooked everywhere in the world.
But the biryani found in Karachi,
Pakistan, cannot be found anywhere else in the world. We’re at Liaquatabad and the place
we are in is known as Qadri Biryani. The name of the shop is Ghousia
Nalli Biryani. The best and famous thing about it
is that they give you big bones in biryani which has bone marrow inside and when you eat
it you feel so good. You won’t get such a tasty Biryani
anywhere else in Karachi. It is the father of all Biryani. The man: Ghousia Nalli Biryani of Liaquatabad
is very famous and few days left for eid. Tani: In Karachi, various kinds of
biryani can be found, from less spicy to extremely spicy, from chicken to beef, but the best
thing about Ghousia Nalli Biryani is that they have hospitality and they have quick
service.
They’ll quickly bring your order. Besides that, you see these big bone
pieces, when the bone marrow inside it is mixed with Biryani and eaten then that taste
won’t be found anywhere else in Karachi. Immy: This is the main reason for
the biryani’s taste. Tani: The meat is nicely cooked. I’ll show you. Can you see how easily it can be
broken? And when this goes inside the mouth
along with that bone marrow, and with nicely cooked rice, that’s a whole different
feeling. So Ghousia Nalli Biryani is actually
amazing and perfect. You cannot get a better Biryani than
this anywhere in Karachi.
The man: Assalamu alaikum sir. My name is Md. Sakib. I’m the owner of Ghousia Nalli
Biryani. This is your own shop. It was started in 1992 by my father.
And today, in 3 years and 9 months,
this shop got recognition because and
due to Allah’s blessings, from
Liaquatabad to Karachi, from Karachi to Pakistan, from Pakistan to the whole world, this
Ghousia Nalli biryani has become famous.
You loved us. And now everyone eats Biryani from
here because this is our own Pakistani Biryani. We’re proud that we’re Pakistanis. Pakistan is our pride. We promote Pakistan in everything. Ghousia Nalli Biryani is our
Pakistani dish. It’s made without oil or ghee
because it’s nalli biryani.
It is made with bones and meat. There’s an aroma in every rice. Those who eat from here definitely
say ‘wow’ after having it This is your love. Ghousia Nalli Biryani, father of all
Biryani. Immy: So we’ve reached Kaybees and have
ordered their brand new oreo cone.
They’ve added crushed Oreo on the
top, there’s chocolate syrup, a complete Oreo biscuit, there’s chocolate cone, strawberry
ice cream and mango ice cream. You won’t get a mango ice cream like
theirs anywhere else in Karachi.
I’m gonna go for my first bite. Tani: in Karachi, you’ll get many
shops where you can find various kinds of ice cream but the taste in Kaybees ice cream
cannot be found anywhere else in Karachi.
The best thing is that the texture
of the ice cream is in the way that it should be. We bought mango and strawberry
flavors. The flavor of mango is rich. It doesn’t seem like synthetic mango
flavor is added. Same with the strawberry flavor
too. Immy’s favourite is the coffee
flavor here. Immy: The coffee flavor is like
having an affogato like it’s creamy with vanilla and coffee mixed together.
It’s very tasty. But you’ve to eat it very quickly
because it melts fast in Karachi’s heat. Tani: The best thing about this come
is that you’ll get it of two types. One for 130 rupees And another for
160 rupees. So this one is of 160 rupees and
they’ve given an Oreo biscuit in it and this is an Oreo cone. The best thing about it is that the
wafer you can see is very crispy and tasty. It’s not like the ones found in
other stores which become soft inside the mouth. So this is the best thing about
Kaybees’ cones. So we’ll give it 10 on 10. Immy: For me, it’s a solid 10 out of
10. Tani: Let’s go
Immy: To beat the heat of Karachi,
the best thing to have is a cold glass of lassi. I’m gonna try this lassi and where
are we? Tani: We’ve reached Burns Road and
the place we’re in is known as Punjab Lassi House. They claim that you won’t find a
Lassi like theirs anywhere else in Karachi. The best thing is that the layer
which you see on the top of yogurt is added to it and it’s an amazing lassi. It’s time to take a sip. I’m going to take my first sip. Immy: I had a really big sip and it
was so good.
Tani: It’s an amazing lassi. Immy: It’s really thick in texture Some lassi are thin like water. But this is not one of them. It’s super thick like a milkshake. I enjoyed it a lot. Tani: As Immy said it is right that the
heat in Karachi is nowhere else in Pakistan. It might be in some places but
Karachi’s heat is extreme. It causes you to sweat a lot.
Lassi is very necessary. Our mouth has been sweetened after
having lassi. Now it’s time to have some salty
food so we’ll go to have haleem. Immy: Karachi Haleem. Let’s go Tani: Haleem is such an item that
every Pakistani loves to eat. We’re going to have a tasty beef
stew. On the top, you can see many
ingredients are there. There are fried onions, chaat
masala, mint, ginger pieces. Immy: If you don’t know what haleem
is, it has wheat, rice, and pulses cooked for a certain period of time and it makes
a delicious dish.
Today’s weather is becoming nice
too. So I’m gonna take my first bite. Tani: It’s a hot and tasty stew. Haleem is found in every city in
Pakistan but I don’t think you can find a better haleem in Pakistan or the whole
world than the ones found in Karachi. If I say this, I’m not wrong. The best thing is that they cook it
very nicely during the night.
During Muharram when they cooked
haleem, my friends and I used to help them, and then the haleem which is ready in the end is
the most amazing one. Immy: Hot jalebi is being cooked
here and I think I should try some. This is definitely street food. Let’s order it. This is Fresco’s hot jalebi and hot
sugar syrup is coming out of it. It is super crispy and I’ve had my
sugar fix for the day. Let’s go! Tani: The place we’ve reached on
burns road is known as Azad Bun Kebab and they claim that they have been here since
Pakistan got independence and seeing these amazing tasty bun kebabs. We’ve come to try these.
The best thing about it is that the
bun, the kebab, and the salad all are given separately. So you can assemble them yourself. First, you put the kebab on the bun,
then put chutney, salad, raita, and then fold like this and when you take your first bite,
then all money seems to be worth it, and all your tiredness goes away. Immy: This bun kabab has made me go
crazy.
Tani: It’s an amazing bun kebab. The best thing is that it doesn't
have lots of ingredients. In other places, they add so much
chutney that the taste of kabab is lost. It has simple green chutney and
along with it has onions and bun. So just these few ingredients make a
bun kabab. Immy: On the patty of this bun
kabab, they’ve applied egg or something like that which is so delicious.
Burgers of the whole world on one
side and the bun kabab of Karachi on the other side. There is absolutely no comparison
and I give this bun kabab an 8 out of 10. I think it’s amazing. I wish it was bigger. Immy: We’ve had tasty bun kababs and
now it’s time to have rabdi. Tani: I’ve many old memories
attached to this Delhi Rabbri House.
I remember that I used to come here
with my grandfather when I was small and I demanded to have rabbri from this place. I used to say that I want this
daily. The kheer here is also famous, which
is sold in clay pots and after eating, we used to break those pots by throwing them on
the ground. So today we’ve reached here again.
So let’s have the rabbri and we’ll
tell you that the taste is the same as it was 20 years ago. Immy: So I’ve eaten rabbri for the
first time in Karachi only and this is the only place I’ve ever had it from. If you don’t know what it is, it is
like a milky sweet dessert.
I think they cook the milk and it
becomes really thick like a custard. It’s super delicious. Tani: The correct way to eat it is
that you stand on the street and take a big bite through a spoon so that the pollution here when
mixed with rabbri and the taste you get is amazing. Immy: It’s intensely sweet. Tastes like condensed milk. I really like it.
So now it's the turn for hot and
sugar syrup coated gulab jaman we are currently at Burns road in
Karachi Waheed kebab is right in front of us This cart/stall is named Lal sahab
and they're located right in front of waheed kebab They sell sugar-coated gulab Jaman and what a tasty gulab jamun it is. It has a perfect ratio of sweetness
in it.
Tani: Eat and show it. Immy: Inaya is trying to steal it. It tastes milky and rosy and it’s
hot. have it or not. That’s what makes it amazing. Tani: The best thing about it is
that it isn’t overpowering. By seeing it from afar, I thought it
was immersed in sugar syrup and so it would be very sweet. But the sweetness is balanced. So anyone can have it. I won’t recommend it for diabetic
patients because it’s very sweet. But it’s tasty. Tani: any video of Karachi Street
food is incomplete without coming to Waheed or having its kebab. So we have reached here and are
going to have their amazing nihari.
Along with it, fry kabab and one
secret item which you’ll know by the end of this blog. So watch the video till the end and
don’t forget to subscribe, like and share. So let’s go enter Immy: Waheed’s kabab has been
established since 1961 and Tani told me that they’re pretty spicy but I think I can
handle Karachi’s spice now.
What do you guys think?
Tani: The nihari is very tasty and
amazing. Along with it, we ordered fried
kabab. So the best thing about it is that
it has oil in the right amount. In other places, they put lots of
ghee and so it becomes very oily and the taste is spoiled. Here Immy has given me a bite to
eat. Immy: How’s it? I gave him enough that he didn't say
anything.
Let me tell you that it is very
tasty.
It’s spicy like there’s a real kick
to it and the sides are balanced. It’s not too oily. It’s perfect. Tani: I think the kababs and nihari
are perfect 10 on 10. And one secret item is there which
we’re going to try so let’s reveal it to the people?
Immy: end of the blog.Tani: Watch it till the end. You’ll get to know. Tani: We are at Dhoraji and we’re
having amazing and colorful Gola Ganda(shaved ice). Immy will have the first bite. How are you feeling after having it? The one we’ve bought is the simple
one.
In special ones, they add dry
fruits, nuts, jelly, and many more things. This one is simple. It doesn’t have many things. It only has flavors that are added
in the form of colorful juices. It has chocolates and we’ve assured
them to add jelly to it. Immy: So in Pakistan, gola ganda is
amazing because not only does it have the flavors, it has come which makes it so much
better.
And the chocolate which they add
becomes frozen and then the jelly, the total combination is amazing.I would give this a solid 10. For the first time when I had it in
Pakistan, I got high. Tani: It’s time to get high. I’ll also eat it. I also want to get high. I’ll drink it first. Immy: It became like a milkshake.Tani: amazing thing is that the ice
inside it is in 3-4 layers.
In Many places, they just add one
layer of ice, and then it starts to melt. It has 3-4 layers so it is not melting and is nice there. There are flavors, chocolate, and
jelly on it. It’s an amazing item. After having such rich food, if
you have this then you’ll feel amazing.Immy: If you’re a sweet food lover
like me, this is your ideal dessert.
Tani: And After having such sweet
food, some salty food is required so let’s have kheeri? I’ll tell you what it is 24:40-25:40- Immy: So if you have made it to this
part our bonus and amazing item so if you wonder
what it is, it is called kheeri.
Tani was like you have to try it. It seems like some sort of organ. I’ll eat it like that or with Roti? I am going in for the bite. It’s so soft Tani: Now let me tell you what it
is. Immy: It’s nalli. Its texture is like nalli.I actually like it. It’s spicy for Inaya. If you’ll try kheeri then tell us in
the comments and if you enjoyed our Karachi street food, please definitely tell us in
the comments so we can make more crazy street food blogs.
I’m feeling spicy so I’ll drink some
water. 25:41-26:22- Tani: So it’s time that in this
amazing and sweet note, Tani and Immy end this beautiful and full of excitement and adventure
Pakistan series and move further in the hope that The next series we’ll show you will be
